Google Pixel 4a which looks contemporary

JAKARTA – Goole has officially announced the successor to its budget phone, the Pixel 4a. This affordable version of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is a successor to the Pixel 3a released last year.

Reporting from The Verge, Tuesday 4 August, Pixel 4a only comes in one model without a larger XL variant. Interestingly, the Pixel 4a actually comes with a new look that has punch hole and current screen ratio.

Google also still uses a plastic body for this cheap variant of the Pixel series. Even the Pixel 4a is priced quite affordable which can compete with its competitor Apple in releasing the iPhone SE 2020 variant.

It has a 5.81-inch (OLED) screen with Full HD + 1080×2340 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. Google brings a new look to the Pixel 4a, even if it only supports it refresh rate 60Hz.

On the back, Google only provides a single 12.2MP resolution camera and LED flash in a square module like the Pixel 4.While in the punch-hole, Google immerses an 8MP selfie camera with a Sony IMX355 sensor that supports EIS.

Even though it is only equipped with one camera, Google still immerses the iconic features in the Pixel series. Night shooting mode, aka Night Sight with Astrophotography, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Live HDR +, Super Res Zoom and OIS features are Google’s flagship weapons.

Turning to the performance aspect, the Pixel 4a is powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset and is combined with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory. The battery has a capacity of 3,140 mAh and supports 18W fast charging and the Power Delivery 2.0 feature via the USB-C port. In addition, Google still uses a conventional fingerprint scanner that is placed on the back.

Unlike its predecessor, the Pixel 4a is only available in one color variant, Just Black. Pixel 4a is priced at 349 US dollars, or around Rp. 5.1 million.

Although relatively cheap, this new phone will be sold on August 20 for the United States market. On the same occasion, Google also announced the Pixel 4a with 5G support, namely the Pixel 4A 5G.
